Tulsa home styling: A sweet and simple vintage boys' room

Because you Ashleys are awesome! I love working with you two and I need your help to pull this room together. I’m definitely stuck on how to create the space that I have imaged in my head.

We were so excited to work with Emily Netz on her sons' nursery

We always say our clients are stylish people, but this has never been more the case than when we worked with local blogger and house renovator Emily Netz. Emily and her husband Jeff recently renovated their 1920s Tulsa home (which you can see and read about here) and Emily designed and furnished nearly every space except for her boys' room. When it came to this room, Emily felt stuck on how to create the space she had imagined in her head and wanted an extra pair (or two) of eyes to help bring it to life. We were more than happy to help!

Emily envisioned a bedroom her two young sons, Theo and August, could comfortably share. A play area, reading nook, and adequate and pretty toy storage were all must-haves on her list. When we asked Emily how she'd describe the ideal version of this room she used words like fun, imaginative, simple, vintage, and welcoming.

Emily already had (or had located) most of the furniture and decor that ended up in the space, which made for a giant beautiful puzzle that we worked to put together in the most functional and attractive way. We showed up one morning and began moving furniture, shopping her home, and arranging rugs and decor (after of course, she made us cups of her delicious coffee again!). Over the course of the morning, the three of us created and styled the different zones Emily had envisioned and brainstormed art placement which we left as homework.

We deciphered the best curtain placement and got it done that day.

The end result is just lovely. The stars of the room are definitely the matching vintage brass beds that Emily found on Craig's List and drove multiple hours to retrieve. Totally worth it. They even came with matching clamp lamps. What?

Thank you for inviting us into your home Emily and allowing us to help create a space for your sweet boys to enjoy together. Enjoy the "after" photos by Melissa Click Photography below.
