Retro Den Upholstery Before & After Round-Up

Retro Den Upholstery: Bigger and Better Than Ever

You may have heard, we’ve expanded our upholstery department here at Retro Den this year, and we are SO PUMPED. Not only does this mean new, incredible people on our team, but it also means more before and afters (you can get a quote for your own before & after here)! Because everyone enjoys a good before and after, we’re planning to regularly round-up the happenings within Retro Den Upholstery and share them with you here on the blog! Let’s get started with three of our favorite recent projects. Ready, set, go.

A Sentimental Arm Chair Gets an Update

retro den upholstery_before.JPG

This old chair belonged to our client Lindsey’s grandmother. Lindsey thought the chair was super comfortable (With its feather back cushion!) and loved that it reminded her of her grandmother; however, she wasn’t a fan of its outdated fabric and skirt. Lindsey decided to remove the skirt and update the sentimental chair in a vibrant blue for a more modern look. Lauren, our newest addition to our Retro Den team, set to work and transformed Lindsey’s grandmother’s armchair into a stunning show-stopper. Just take a look below!

A Faded Thrift Store Chair Transformed

retro den upholstery.JPG

Our shop manager Holly found this faded chair in a thrift store and picked it up with hope for a better life for it. She could see potential with its soft curves and sophisticated tufting. Janie (aka my ma) got her talented hands on this piece and wham, bam, thank you ma’am–this little vintage chair is now gorgeous! You cannot tell in the photos, but the fabric is not only a warm, beautiful rust color, but also soft and snuggly. Check her out!

A Curbside Settee Gets a New Look

Retro Den Upholstery before.JPG

Our clients found this settee on the curb looking pretty rough. Sure, it was tattered and torn, but they envisioned what it could look like with a little love. They selected the loveliest pale yellow fabric and then turned it over to Janie. Gosh, this settee turned out so incredibly beautiful. Just look at that soft golden landscape alongside the brass nailhead detailing. I wish we could steal this piece and keep it forever. Curbside score if there ever was one.

The settee’s new owner said it best, “Thank you for all the hard work and care you put into turning this Old Lady into a Roaring Young Thing again.” You’re sure welcome.
